Common Courtesy

So I think that some things are just decent and quite frankly, polite.

1) When you give someone your phone number, make sure it is the right number. Did you know that it not only benefits you, but it also benefits the person who you gave the number to AS WELL AS the person they will END up calling and harassing? Oh never thought of that did you? It's as simple as having readable handwriting you know making sure your 4's don't end up as 9's or 0's ending up at 6's or 7's looking like 1's or even 2's and vice versa. If you're giving a number on someone's mobile phone, just double check it- don't need good handwriting for that :) You ask, why am I saying this? Well I've been getting numerous phone calls at 2.30AM and some at 6 AM (not that I pick up because my phone is off/on silent) but it is slightly scary and annoying to know that people have been trying to contact you and you're left wondering if its that urgent or if you want to call back because you don't recognise the caller. See, I got phone calls from 2 separate numbers today, early in the morning so again I didn't pick up. One of those callers rings in the afternoon after 3 missed calls during the day on top of the 2 at 2.30 AM and so I do pick up.
Me: Hello?
Caller: Hello? (already this is kinda dodgy to me) Foreign accent, don't recognise voice.
Me: Yeah..?
Caller: Who is this?
Me: Umm..why?
The caller then mumbles something which I cant work out (this is really annoying)
Me: Sorry?
Caller hangs up. Then the phone rings again and I pick up.
Me: Hello?
Caller: Who is this? (at this point I start to lose it)
Me: NO! You're the one who called me, so who the heck are YOU?
The caller mumbles something again which I dont get.
Me: Obviously I don't know you and you don't know me and you're actually annoying so stop calling me it's harassment.
Then the caller hangs up. YAY. OK really, it was probably a wrong number but what other way is there to tell someone to stop calling I mean they can't even speak english. Just, give people the correct number.

2) (In this case, picture yourself facing a train ticket machine).
Has it ever happened to you, that you arrive at the train station 1 minute before the train it due to depart and you're lining up at the ticket machine and someone in front of you takes a very long time to buy their ticket? It sure does annoy me. From your point of view it appears that they don't know the alphabet very well so they can't find the station name, or have trouble utilising the strength of their fingers to press the buttons, or they have this intense need to dispose of all their tiny coins, so they slowly put in 10 cent coins for a $3.20 ticket. To those peeps, man, did it ever, ever occur to you that we patient souls have places to be and people to meet? People miss their trains because of you but no, you don't care, just as long as YOU get on that frigging long awaited locomotive and choo choo off while everyone else has to catch the all-stops. While I know the ticket machine is a handy way to get rid of small change, do do it when there is no line behind you. Also, may I say that it doesn't accept 5 cent coins :)

You can say to us patient souls, just come earlier-be at least 10minutes early for the train. Hmm yes its quite selfish again dont you think? The rest of the people in line have to lose 10 minutes of their day to cater for you small change disposers. Say theres 6 people in line. If you can't work out the alphabet, I hope you can do the math. Thats 1 hour of time people are losing all for your stupid 10 cent coins. Do us a favour wont you? Walk 3 metres to your left and ask the ticket officer to get you the ticket. There's even a whole tray to put your coins on! But wait, theres even more. You can even use your annoying little 5 cent pieces! Genius, if you ask me. See, public transport caters for everyone of different needs. It's great!

Also, if you take your change very slowly, maybe step aside so others can press their station and ticket type while you collect- it's more efficient. And btw, you were born with quite a few fingers and a hand so don't take out your coins one piece at a time, trying taking at least 2 coins. It's just common sense and courtesy.

I'll save the rant on elevators for later.
Goodbye folks :)
